Poems

One thing we learn from Ethelbert is that his faith guides him completely. It is a faith in Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Nazareth being a place not too dissimilar from how Lawton, Oklahoma (my birthplace) was once viewed.

Ethelbert on God's Peace

God has shor led me thru
sum mighty big storms,
by the Peace 'at He gives
Peace 'at guards an' transforms!

I jist cain't explain it
its beyond me to say
'cept His Peace in my mind
has kept fears far away.

When thar's spurs in my heart
gnawin' hurtful, they sting;
they'd eat me alive
'cept to Jesus I cling!

For Christ stills the yearnin'
fer what here jist cain't be!
thru the Peace 'at He gives
to His childurn like me.
