Sometimes our sense of smell can trigger memories from long ago. Perhaps some of those I’ve listed below are worth something to you too!
Five Scents Worth
Freshly cut spring grass,
after the season's first mowing.
Cool rain in summer
falling on thirsty, sun-scorched fields.
Mountain pines, high up,
on a crisp and early autumn afternoon.
Wood-smoke in winter
wafting along a cold and frosty wind.
And slabs of bacon sizzling in the morning!
