Poems

Why not investigate what is written in God’s Word? The truth’s found there are eternal and unchanging.

It Is Written

What paltry gain:
to win by injustice
only an earthly advantage!

Oh, the benefits
of all transgression
are tenuous and fleeting indeed.

Though the spoils may last a lifetime
or endure for mere moments
the outcome is the same:

the seeds of our destruction,
once planted in the soul,
are not diminished by death,

but survive into eternity,
where their fruit will rightly be
adjudged as folly.

Where, unworthy, the unwilling
reapers one day will stand,
pleading for mercy none deserves.

Yet Who Knows waits;
until He, one day, will cover all
with the most merciful of pardons,

purchased by the awful
sacrifice of faultless,
Holy blood.
